Were you a prisoner?
It's more than just the usual Liminal station hijinks. Megafauna, short-circuiting electronics and extreme weather events are typical. Enodia is the only place where you might lose your powers altogether.

Just a long term guest helping with a specific project.
This chaos is actually why I applied for the transfer. I was studying Liminal megafauna and highly irradiated marine creatures before I became a Liminal, and I wanted to get back into hands-on work. Enodia's experiencing an explosion in my field.
Soooo... now that you know a bit about me, how did you end up at Enodia? You're extremely well-qualified. Probably could have gotten yourself stationed anywhere.

Which project? I might have heard of it.
I joined Enodia when it first opened five years ago. You're right, any station would be lucky to have me. But here, I'm one of the division's most senior researchers, with my own lab and full autonomy, and I get first look at anything involving the most active rift in the world.

Sheesh, probably not. It was mostly about Liminal physiology and biochemistry, how pharmaceuticals interact with all of our unique issues.
So I'm in the presence of a founding member. I'd love to hear what you know about the local wildlife. I know that your focus is a little more broad, but I bet you can point me in the right direction and give me some important insight. Maybe over dinner?

Nope, that field's a dead end. We are what we are, forever and ever. I was working with people like Raine Riley on safe biochem and pharmaceuticals for Liminals.
Somehow, I think we could fill an evening with other conversational topics. I don't know much about you but you're not dull.

You didn't ans
Yeah, I guess I could've, but neither of us would've had as much fun that way. I'll start working on part two and ask about that dinner again once I've got it figured out.

Dr. Nowles. I'm flattered, really. But while I might still be making up my mind about you, I like you enough that it would be impolite to not say that I have a [...] complicated relationship with your friend Raine. Complicated enough that it might be better if we started this acquaintance over.

Oh shit! Sorry! That's why you're not "friends".
I had no idea. I'm not looking to cause problems or conflicts of interest or anything. I mean, congrats, he's fantastic, and I like you enough to see what he's thinking.

Ugh. It's not like that. He's
Anyway, you weren't. But you're new here, and you deserve to get your bearings first. You'll have plenty of other chances to do an inopportune flirt; it's a small station.

Besides, you get a bunch of Liminals in one place, things are bound to go wrong from time to time.

Somehow, I don't think that what I know about this topic (very little) would cover an entire dinner.

Correct. I'm still trying to decide if you're interesting or just novel. Have you figured out my abilities yet?
DM, 10/2
I know you've been messing with my head. Making me feel things that aren't really there.
DM, 10/2
We're[...]something like thatIllusions. You've figured out part one. Although you could've gotten there faster if only you asked around.

Re: DM, 10/2
Not necessarily a deal killer... depending on outside variables. However, cross my heart, all questions henceforth will be strictly professional.
DM, 10/2
Find me in Research this week. I'll tell you about the other biologists in the department.
DM, 10/2
But I'll take you up on that, Dr. Waldinger. I could use the briefing... aaaand a little more time to observe your mannerisms and social interactions.
DM, 10/2
Is that something you do a lot?
DM, 10/2
[...] Not really? I usually miss what's going on around me.
